Tu Lan day

Pardon my vulgarity, wasn't a good day for me.

It wasn't work but more of the after work events. I have to go collect my course materials this evening. My course mate called me when he got there while I was still queuing in the taxi stand waiting for a cab to get to school (thinking that I can catch a ride home later with another course mate BUT it was not meant to be). He did not mentioned about the queue building up. When I got there, I saw 2 lines being formed. Seeing the shorter one, I joined the queue then I found out from my course mate that it was not the correct queue to be in. I supposed to register first (for what reasons, only the school admin would know) then re-join another queue to collect my course materials. After queuing for 30mins, my course mates decides go food court for some food and drinks. I told them not to wait for me and carry on with their plans (which also means, my free ride home is gone). By the time they got back, there were still about 30 heads in front of me and the hands on my swatch shows 8.15pm. I am here for more than 1 hour and I am still in a queue!!

While I was in the queue, I realize that there some were queue for their friends or family members, thus, cutting short their waiting time. DAMN! Why can't my course mates did that for me, not that I am expecting them to do that for me though. Just shows that, it does have a edge going for things like this in a group ;) Some were queuing without registering. There was no one going round telling students to register before collecting the materials. There were also no proper indication on what to do, where to queue. The guy at the counter, where I finally got my notes, still have the cheek to tell me that they opened for collection the whole day and it's only in the evening that the crowd builds up. Oh my god!! How dumb can you get? It's a part time course, people who goes to offices signed up for this course, they can only come after office hours! The worst part.... I only managed to collect half of what I supposed to collect because the rest were out of stock! FARK!! Why in the first place you called students to collect materials when you run out of it? The guy asked me to come back next Wednesday for the remaining materials which I refused. Everything was in a mess, only right thing was, they will courier the remaining course materials to me.

Anyway, I have sent an email to the school admin expressing my disappointment with the arrangements.

I got to meet a few persons in the mist of this eventful evening. While queuing, I saw my user who is also attending a course at the same campus. He too was stucked in the queuing process. After that I saw K, an ex-colleague whom I can really click with and...... nevermind it's history :P Chat with her for a short while as I wasn't really in the mood and she was supposed to be in class if not for a phone call. On the bus home, I saw another user and immediately after he alighted, I saw my secondary school classmate with his wife. While waiting for mrt to get home, I saw my brother on the platform. Was wondering who's next :p

It's truly an eventful evening.

First Weekend of 2006...

..was boring but at least I finally went for a jog.

I was up at 7.30am this morning when mum who's leaving for Malaysia came into my room. I did not succumb to the sleeping tempting weather and went back to sleep as I was determine to use the heart rate monitor I bought. :)

Was supposed to go out with colleagues for kayaking at East Coast Park but was changed to bowling at Marina Square due weather. Did not join them for bowling and ended up cleaning up my book shelve. I got so many old magazines, some dated as far back as 1994. I remember throwing away some dated 1985 last year. :p I don't know why I am such a sucker for magazines. Other items I found were; stack of wedding invitations. I think I got at least 20 of them. Now you know why I so poor. A photograph of me and my ex (and first) girlfriend. I look rather 'round' back then. There's even a booklet from some magazine use for keeping scores for 2002 World Cup.

Managed to throw away 3 magazines with Ann Kok on the cover and a pen holder and a couple of pens. Wanted to throw away the photograph (most likely I have another copy) but then decided against it.

More cleaning to complete before Chinese New Year. I wonder what would I find next and what would I throw. :)

Welcome 2006

光阴似箭
The world learn a new word, ‘Tsunami’, before crossing over to 2005 when thousands lost their love ones in the worse natural disaster of recent times.

2005 does have its fair share of events to show for:
1. We have a new pope.
2. Prince Charles got a new wife.
3. My beloved Liverpool won the Champion League in the most dramatic come back of all time. 4. Terrorists still go round taking innocent lives.
5. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie admitting their relationship.

For Singapore:
1. NKF saga should be the most talked about event in Singapore for 2005 I suppose.
2. The approval of building TWO Intergraded Resorts (casinos).
3. Singapore won the Tiger Cup.
4. Some brutal murder cases which put our law enforcers to the test.
5. Fann Wong and Christopher Lee admitting their relationship.

As for me, I got nothing much to show for in 2005.
I scraped through my first year in school, bearing making the cut. Nevertheless, I passed and move on to the next stage of my chase for ‘the paper’.

This is what I wrote at the beginning of 2005:

“I hope to get fitter with more exercise and healthier diet. Hopefully, I can get a better pay raise this year, as the last was miserable, so that I can go for more diving trips. It would be nice to find a special someone too *blush*”

Failed to increase my fitness level, only thing increased was my waistline. L Bought myself a heart-rate monitor, planning to use it to obtain the correct workout level but that little gadget still sits nicely in the box. :P

As for the special someone, I think my cupid needs to go for a LASIK operation, get a pair of glasses or have mercy on me with his arrows. Be more accurate in 2006 PLEASE!!!
One thing good did happen and that was getting a raise. A better raise than the last one (actually any raise will be better than the last as the last was horrible).

2006, what should my resolution be? Guess it’s still the same old stuffs but I do hope to pick up an additional skill or two, like rollerblading (before I get too old for this), cooking?? J
It’s a better year every year!! CHEERS!
