The importance of things can be measured by how much time we are willing to invest in them. The more time you give to something, the more you reveal its importance and value to you. If you want to know a person's priorities, just look at how they use their time.

Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.

Got the above passage from a friend's blog in multiply. After reading it, found that it's very meaningful and true.

Time is part of your life, isn't it true that only those you classified as important then would you want to take a portion of your 'life' to say 'Hi', to keep in touch, to give priority to?
For those not important, you will come up with reasons and excuses just to excuse yourself for spending part of your 'life' with for as the passage suggested, once you gave someone your time, you will never get it back. Therefore the more time you spent with someone, the more important the person is.

Of course, this does not restrict just to people, it also applicable to something you do. What you spend time on doing suggests that the particular thing you are doing is important to you or you enjoy doing it and won't mind parting some of your 'life' doing it. Therefore the more time you spent doing something, the more important that particular thing is.
