Life is a balance of holding on and letting go

Got the above message from a friend. Initially it appeal to me as a romance message of holding to someone you fancy or letting him or her go. When I take a second look at it, it dawn upon me that it can indeed be used for life in general.

Holding on to your job or letting it go. You are going nowhere as it has become a routine but you love your work, your colleague and your boss loves you.

Holding on to your old school books or letting it go. Was it taking up too much space or you can spare the space for the sentimental values attached to it. The little drawings or thoughts scribbled on certain pages.

Holding on to your group of friends or letting them go. Wasn't asking you to isolate yourself but how many so call friends are indeed friends? Are you selective or take whoever comes by and say 'Hi'.

Holding on to your hobbies or letting it go. Sometime you enjoyed, sometime that takes your mind of your stressful work, family or love life. If in the reverse, its taking too much of your time and money then should you let it go?

There are many things in life which is indeed a choice between holding on to or letting it go. You need to strike a balance in your choice of holding on to and letting go. Too much of anything is no good. Life without anything is also no good.
