Selfish Singaporeans?

This evening when I was on my way back on the mrt, I witness something that proof that Singaporean are selfish including me.

Here's what happened:
An old man got up from his seat and got off the train and leaving behind a paper bag. A lady sitting right next to him takes a peep into the bag and don't even bothered to alert the man he left something behind. The worse part, she was alighting at the same stop as well.

I was also selfish enough not to alert that old man as he was running out to catch the North bound train to Woodland. :(

The other day I saw a bag in the mrt too and I was just sitting next to the bag. As mrt staff walk passed, a malay man opposite me pointed out the bag to him and I passed it to the staff. I briefly saw something like an iPod in it. DAMN! :P

I wonder what if these bags are bombs.... will we be killed for our selfishness?

i think selfishness may not be appropriate... it's more apathy than anything.... it's the same as drivers seeing a car stop by the roadside with a flat tyre or something and simply decide to continue to drive away rather than finding out if the driver needs help. Maybe it's the adverse result of a teaching we've learned to 不要多管闲事。。。
